Development of an Analytical Line Source Dispersion Model to Predict Ground Level Concentrations for Particulate Matter (PM) of Different Particle Size Ranges

Particulate matter (PM) is released in varying quantities from mobile sources depending on the type of fossil fuel used combustion. According to USEPA, PM exposure could cause a variety problems such as premature deaths, nonfatal heart attacks, irregular heartbeat, asthma, reduced lung function, and respiratory issues. Therefore, it necessary predict downwind concentrations near highways protect public adverse health effects. The current study concentrates developing an analytical line source dispersion model account for different particle size ranges particulate sources. Available models do not explicitly consider sizes present exhaust. discusses development by incorporating range infinite finite-length source. dry deposition particles also considered during development. emission rate, wind speed, direction, atmospheric turbulence, velocity are inputs. sensitivity determined simultaneously independent input variables using Monte Carlo simulation Crystal Ball software. analysis results generated preliminary nature should be re-examined.
